Yuniesky Betancourt Game-Worn 1977 Mariners Uniform
On Sunday, July 29th, the Athletics and Mariners went back in time to 1977 on Turn Back the Clock Day at Safeco Field. Both the A’s and Mariners wore retro jerseys fashioned after the uniforms from that year during the contest. The game turned out to be a slugfest with both teams registering double-digit run totals and a combined seven extra base hits. The Mariners jumped out to an early 6-0 lead by the second inning, but the A’s stormed back to take a 10-7 lead in the away half of the seventh inning. But the Mariners had the last laugh, scoring seven runs in the final two frames to grab a 14-10 win, and a series victory, winning three of four in the extended weekend series.
